Just a few extra pounds at age 50 increases death risk 20-40%: study

Americans who Carry just a few extra pounds at age 50 raise their risk of dying 20 to 40 percent compared with those who are at the optimal weight, a study says. The finding, gathered over 10 years, come from a study of more than 500,000 member of the AARP, the organization for older Americans. The increased risk was most pronounced among overweight people who didn't smoke, eliminating another major risk factor, the researchers said. The risk from carrying 10 to 20 extra pounds has been debated for years In medical circles. While no one disputes the fact that the obese are more likely to develop diabetes, heart disease and cancer, the danger from a few pounds that gradually creep on with age has been less clear, researchers said. "We know that being obese causes all sorts of health risks to increase," said Lawrence Cheskin, director of the Johns Hopkins Weight Management Center in Baltimore. "What is hard to demonstrate is that for people who are not extremely heavy, there is a risk of actual death". The new study shows the risk, said Cheskin, a physician who wasn't involved in the research. The study, which appears in the Aug. 24 New England Journal of Medicine, was conducted by the National Cancer Insitute, the National Institutes of Health and the AARP all based in Washington. About 136.5 million Americans age 20 or older were classified as overweight or obese in 2004, according to the American Heart Association. U.S. health officials have expressed concren that the growing number of overweight or obese Americans will place extra strain on the medical system. Gannett News Service

Can You Afford To Get Sick

Hi Briley here and I want to share with something that happen to me . While working my nine to five I started to having this back pain but, I continue to working. Later I found out the I need to have a operation on my back. OK, so I check into the hospital had my operation and everything went well. Then I found out that I had cancer in my Bone Marrow. Which means that I would need a Stem Cell Transplant. According to my Doctor if, I would have never has the back operation they would have never seen the cancer in my bone marrow until it started to spread. So now I need treatment for the cancer in my bone marrow. This also cause me to be off work for seven mouths. Now my Insurances only offer short term disability in my case that only lasted for 26 weeks. Here's the kicker you only get a third of what you make every two weeks. The two weeks are also included in the 26 weeks, which means their pay you for about six months. After that you are out of luck!!!. This is my insurance. What I am suggesting to you is that you check out your insurance and see what your benefits are if you can't work how muck their pay you and for how long.
Now mind you my back operation cost some were around $100,000 and if I have the Stem Cell Transplant it's going to cost around $500,000. Now do you thing that the Insurance company want to pay for these two transaction. No I think not that the very reason that I have to return to work. So the insurance can pay for my first operation. I will deal with the Stem Cell Transplant later on down the roads.

All I am saying is check out your insurance and see what they offer you when you can't work for an long period of time and make sure that you are covered!

When I first started in this business my goal was to be Debit free. I didn't realize that I would need this business to help maintain my lifestyle after , I had to have a Back operations. I been off work for at least seven months.

Living With Diabetes

An Unemployed Graduate

An unemployed graduate woke up one
morning and checked his pocket. All he had left was $10. He decided to
use it to buy food and then wait for death as he was too proud to go
begging.
He was frustrated as he could find no job, and nobody was ready to
help
him.
He bought food and as he sat down to eat, an old man and two little
children came along and asked him to help them with food as they had
not
eaten for almost a week. He looked at them. They were so lean that he

Stem Cell Transplant

Stem Cells are immature cells that develop into red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and more stem cells. Most stem cells are found in bone marrow, the spongy tissue inside large bones, but stem cells are also found in the blood stream.

The stem cells found in bone marrow and blood are hematopoietic (blood-forming) stem cells, not Embryonic stem cells. Choosing a company to join, the most important factor i not the compensation plan. Whether the plan is a achieving important goals for distributors. Here are some compensation plan that should send you running in the opposite direction. Plans that dose nothing to discourage dead weigh distributors and non produceder. Plans that encourage intentroy loading or large investment in products. Plans that emphasizes gimmicks rather than product sales.

Four type of Plan,
Unilevel Plan the principal advantage of the unolevel plan is that it's easy for companies to adminiser for distributors to explain to potential recruits. Chief disadvantage is it's lack of flexibility in achieving some of the goals mentioned earlier. Stairstep breakaway plan, the oldest marketing compensation plan. A distributor advances in rank and breaks away from his or her original sponsorship line. Chief advantage is that it has a good track recode,is easy to modify accepted by regulatory agencies, and is driven by volume and performance. Primary disadvantage of this plan is that it is sometime so complicate that it's difficult to explain to New recruits.
Maxtix Plan,
Plan looks like a grid in which a distributor is limited to a cerain number of recruits at each level. In a 3X5 matrix, each level down to five can have only three down line distributors. Matrix can attractive to novice distributors if they sign on with strong leaders who help fill their grids.

Binary Plan,
A distributor is allowed to occupy one or more business center each limited to two down line legs. Compendsation is paid on group volume of the down line legs rather that a percentage of sales of multiple levels of distributor. Payment is volume-driven rathe than level-driven. Binary cite several adavantages first they like the weekly payout. Group cooperation is promoted because payout in on a group volume and requires balancing of volume in each leg to be eligible for payout. How much of the sales dollars does the compensation plan payout to distributors? Most plan pay 35 and 45 percent of the company's wholesale purchase volume, and about 30 percent of suggested retail volume. Look for a plan that divides the pie in your favor, without
going overboard. Orphan Commission.
Avoid plan in which Orphan commission return to the company. Plan should be structured in a way that orphan commission roll up to the next qualifying distributor
that month, rather than return to the company. This approach is also called compression orhan commission from terminated disributor should be handle the same way. Lock-in look for plan that has the lock-in feature that is when you reach a certain level, you lock in and cannot be demoted because of a temporary drop in monthly performance.
