If you`d like to add a tag to your messages, simply open your email program. Find the SIGNATURES TAB (located in theTOOLS/OPTIONS menu in Outlook Express). Essential Rules For Effective Email Marketing.
If you want an email campaign to succeed, you don`t want to offend anyone when sending your messages. Turn off a consumer with your email and you can be sure they`ll tune out your message. Don`t let this happen to you! A message that earns respect makes sales. That`s why our first topic for discussion is email etiquette. (Later in the course, we`ll talk more about how to write an email salesletter.)Train yourself to always -- and I mean ALWAYS -- stick to the rules below when crafting your email message.=> RULE #1 - ALWAYS WRAP YOUR LINES AT 65 CHARACTERS OR LESS
Whenever you write an email, always format the lines so that they`re 65 characters, or less, across. To do this, you may need to do a "hard return" by hitting "Enter" at the end of the line. Wondering why to limit your lines to just 65 characters? (Good question! It shows you`re thinking.) There are two reasons that "less is more":-- The first thing to remember is that looking at a computer screen for a long time causes EYE FATIGUE for many readers.The shorter span of characters across the screen makesreading easier and more appealing to the recipient of your email message.-- The other reason to go short instead of long is this: some email clients AUTOMATICALLY ENFORCE LINE-WRAPPING at 60-65 characters on received messages. If your email is wrapped at 70, the content will arrive all "chopped up."This makes it unattractive...and worse -- unappealing. -- Tip within a Rule #1: Email clients such as Outlook Express allow you to SET THE LINE-WRAP to any character-width you choose. That means you won`t have to hit Enter each time after typing 65 characters. Makes life easier! -- Tip within a Rule #2 -
You can type 65 asterisks ordashes in a Notepad file to create a template. Then paste your email below it to see if any lines extend too far tothe right.=> RULE # 2 -
BE CAREFUL USING ALL CAPS How many times have you changed the TV channel to avoid listening to a screaming car salesperson? No one likes a screaming salesperson...and no one likes a "screaming" email message, either. Odds are, when someone has over-amped the volume of their message by using too many capital letters (not to mention too many exclamation points and other punctuation) - you`re going to be turned off. On the Internet, email messages written in all caps are considered yelling. It`s okay to write some sentences and some words in all caps, but don`t go overboard. (As you cansee in this message, I`ve tried to use capital letters to help break up sections of the content from time to time)-- Tip within a Rule:
Consumers buy from a source they trust. Emails in all caps are perceived as "shady" or uneducated, and have an appearance that damages the credibility of an offer.=> RULE #3 -
WATCH YOUR Ps & Qs (Spelling and Grammar) Would you be influenced by an email selling you something that had noticeable spelling and grammar mistakes? Sure you would...and the influence would be negative, not positive! When a consumer reads a sales message that`s filled with errors, they think to themselves, "Good grief, this person doesn`t even take the time to get his emails right. His product is probably the same quality as his emails. "When you`re in business, YOUR IMAGE IS YOUR REPUTATION and your reputation is the reason people buy from you or the guy down the block. It`s essential that you create an image of INTEGRITY, CREDIBILITY, and HONESTY in the mind of your prospects. Sending emails filled with errors doesn`t hurt your professional image...it destroys it. Having A Good Day
Started off with working that 9 to 5. Which wasn't all that bad today just very busy. Came home started to work on my internet business. Most people on want to make a lot of money but they dont want to put in the time and work it takes to make the money. When you start an online business you have to do the work it take to make a nice income. If you run into a program that saids that you make $1000 in about a week, I would move on it doen't work that way unless you have a hugh list and can make sells, of products and services that you promote. Most people starting out dont have a list that they can promote their products and services to as of yet. If you are looking to sell products and service then a list would be very helpful. Your eBay question Answered
Wow... when I told you about the 99-cent trial of Derek Gehl's brand-new eBay training system, I really opened a can of worms! Since then I've been flooded with questions from people wanting to know why I'm suddenly singing the praises of eBay, instead of focusing on how to help people become successful with a "regular" online business. It's not an "either-or" situation, folks. You don't have to choose between building your own "regular" online business or getting started with eBay. Here's a news flash... Selling "junk" on eBay is never going to make you rich -- and it's not something I'd ever recommend. The secret to eBay success is using key research tools to discover what people are buying on eBay -- and how much they're willing to spend. Then all you have to do is find a cheap source of that product so you can buy it for less, then turn around and sell it at a generous mark-up on eBay! It's not rocket science... and there are no tricks and gimmicks involved -- just steady, reliable income, and the chance to grow a huge opt-in list of people you can sell other products to in the future. It might not be as "sexy" as the one-in-a-million chance of launching a website that starts making 1000s of dollars overnight. But it's way more of a sure thing -- and personally, I find a guaranteed extra $1,000 a month sexier than a distant longshot any day of the week! ===============================================================Question #2: "I've been pouring all my free time and money into my online business -- now you're saying I need to start all over again with eBay?"===============================================================
For goodness' sake, no! If you're smart, you should use eBay to help you grow your "regular" online business -- not replace it! Not only is eBay an excellent place to do valuable market research -- so you know what your potential buyers are buying (and why!) -- it also allows you to grow a huge opt-in list of people you can sell to, before your off-eBay site is even up and running! Imagine that -- being able to drive thousands of interested buyers to your site the very same day you launch it! ===============================================================Question #3: "I already have a profitable online business. Why should I bother with eBay?" ===============================================================
My answer is, I guess it depends on how happy you are with your traffic numbers. If you're getting so much traffic that it's crashing your server and you literally don't know what to do with it, then you probably don't want to use eBay to send more visitors to your site. BUT -- if you're getting less than 500 visitors a day, or if you're getting more than that but your visitors aren't converting to sales -- then you should seriously consider eBay. It's a great way to drive highly targeted visitors to your site. Remember, these are people you've found on the world's largest marketplace, which means they're enthusiastic online shoppers! LAB Is Working!
